E-Commerce Wallet Services

Create and managed customized wallets for e-commerce transactions. This product is similar to the generic Wallet Services product. However, E-Commerce Wallet Services is specific to e-commerce mechants/platforms.

Overview

This collection of APIs allows e-commerce merchants create and manage wallets for payments on their platforms. They include:

  1. Wallet Creation API - Using Phone Number

  2. Credit Wallet API

  3. Debit Wallet API

  4. Transaction Notification API

  5. Account Management API.

Note: Unlike the Virtual Accounts, these wallets operate, hold funds and transact like tier 1 accounts. Bank Verification Number (BVN) is not required to operate these wallets. However, users must have valid registered Nigerian phone number to proceed.

How does it work?

E-commerce merchants can request creation of wallets on behalf of their customers, who have provided valid registered Nigerian phone numbers. Merchants would have autonomy on use and management of these wallets on their platforms. However, wallet operations are similar to tier 1 accounts, with minimum KYC requirements.

E-commerce merchants can receive notifications on all debit and credit transactions that occur on the wallets they generate. These wallets can also be linked to debit cards for transactions.

The use case for the E-commerce wallet services is for merchants who want to manage payment (subscriptions) on their platforms.
